I love going to the farmer’s market each week and finding new produce that just came into season. Fruits and veggies that weren’t there last week…but bam, they’re there now. So imagine my excitement when I saw mounds of fresh peaches piled high on folding tables, which just came into season in California. Massive happy dance.

There so much you can do with peaches, from sweet to savory dishes (and I’m sure I’ll have more of those for you) – but today we’re focusing on breakfast. And in particular, starting your day off right with the most delicious peach breakfast smoothie.

Peach Smoothie Ingredients

The ingredients in this peach smoothie recipe are simple and if you’ve been following my blog or YouTube channel for the last few months you’ll see they’re familiar. Namely, my homemade cashew milk and homemade yogurt. Some of what I call my “healthy basics” which always make repeat appearances throughout many recipes on this blog.

You can make this peach smoothie dairy or dairy-free (here’s my dairy-free coconut yogurt recipe), depending on your dietary preference, so it’s a smoothie for everyone. And a darn good one at that.

When it comes to chia seeds, you’ve heard me mention a few of their benefits when I made my chia seed pudding. The more you can sprinkle chia seeds on a variety of recipes, the better.

How to Make This Peach Breakfast Smoothie

To make this peach smoothie you literally just toss all the ingredients, minus the chia seeds, together in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, then divide the smoothie between two mason jars or the Le Parfait jars I use (which I love), add a tablespoon of chia seeds and shake, shake, shake.

Could you add the chia seeds to the blender? Absolutely. I just like to add them after for more texture. It’s also easier to clean the Vitamix container without the chia seeds as they can sometimes stick to the sides.

As a side note, when I was traveling Lisbon, I had my own apartment. So I’d buy several jars of peach yogurt from the organic supermarket and add one travel-sized packet of chia seeds and stir it all together for a complete breakfast. So this peach smoothie recipe was actually inspired by that. One more reason to love travel.

You can drink the smoothie right away or chill it for 5-10 minutes and let the seeds thicken it up a bit. Either way, it’s delicious. And the perfect healthy, seasonal, smoothie breakfast.

  1. Hi Lisa! I was wondering, since it isn’t peach season right now, how many cups of frozen peaches should I use. Love your recipes 🫶

    • I would say about 5 to 6, depending on how big the frozen peach pieces are. Try and eyeball it so that it equals 3 whole peaches.

  2. why don’t you blend the chia seeds?
    thanks

  3. Flippin delicious. Thank you for making my morning!5 stars

  4. This is a truly a delicious breakfast smoothie! I used cashew milk (your recipe) and my own homemade cashew yogurt along with a large date for sweetener. Fabulous! So creamy, my husband couldn’t believe there wasn’t dairy in it! :-)5 stars

  5. Is there any substitution for the banana to get the same amount of creaminess and similar taste? Thanks! 5 stars

  6. I dont do diary. Can I leave it out or do u propose an alternative?

    • Hi Maureen- You can always exclude the yogurt if you’d like and use a nut milk instead. And as a replacement, you can add in bananas to give it extra creaminess. But, just note it will reduce the serving size since we’ll be removing 1 cup of yogurt.

  7. This looks so refreshing and filling. Thank you for sharing!!!5 stars

  12. Awesome! The yoghurt gives the smoothie that slight tangy taste to lift the whole thing.  I used the cashew milk I made yesterday! God I feel so wholesome!  I’ve lost almost 5lb in a month eating more of your food, the funny thing is I don’t at all feel deprived.  This peach smoothie satisfies the tastebuds, I don’t really crave anything sugary anymore.  Nor carbs.  This was easy to throw together – nothing at all to it.  A bonus!5 stars

    • Yay – that’s so wonderful to hear Dorothy! And that’s what it’s all about, making small little tweaks and changes (that shouldn’t feel at all depriving) which help to boost your wellness. More greens and veggies, less sugar and bread-y things. So happy for you! And glad you enjoyed this breakfast smoothie! :) x

  13. I love peaches! We have cherries and apricots coming into season too, so think I’ll bump it up with a combo of fruits.

  14. I love this idea, and your pics! I need more chias in my life, and this combo with the peaches is surely delish. Pinned!

  15. What an awesome looking smoothie. YUM! Oh and your pics are beautiful :)

  16. I’ve not worked with chia seeds, yet. But peaches are a huge hit around here right now – and smoothies are sometimes the only way to get my toddlers to “eat” something.

    • I can totally understand that! Smoothies are a great way to get “greens” in their diet as well. You’ll love my post next week about all the health benefits of chia seeds – as they’d definitely be great for your kiddos! :) x

  17. Are chia seeds crunchy like when they do poppy seeds on muffins? Not a fan of the crunchy

  18. Yum! Looks like a perfect way to enjoy fresh summer peaches.

  19. How do you have a peach smoothie without peaches in the ingredients?

  20. Definitely can’t beat farmer’s market goodness! Love this peach smoothie recipe. As a major chia seed fan (use them all the time), I’m looking forward to your upcoming post on them!
